Elizabeth was born c 1847 at Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland. Her parents were James & Margaret Lindsay.

The family were living at 15 Richmond St., Edinburgh St Cuthberts, Midlothian in the 1871 census & later at Old Machar, Aberdeen in 1881.

The 1891 census records the family living at Leuchars, Fife & later at Annaburn Cottage, Peterculter, Aberdeen in 1901 with children, Frances, Alice & Mary Ann. Also present was dau., Jessie (Lawrie) & her husband, Robt. Lawrie.
