James, a Farmer, was born c 1864 at Winfarthing, Norfolk, England & died in 1917 from a 'Skull Fracture' according to his death record. His parents were William & Susan Garrard.

William died in infancy & his death record can be seen here.

The family was living at Whitby East, Ontario South in the 1901 census, although James' birthplace is recorded as 'Ontario'. Also present was a son, Herbert Garrard, 1889, Ontario ?
