Charles was recorded at 3 Cottages Near Thornhill Farm, Stalbridge, Dorset (1881). The family must have fallen on hard times by 1891 as they're all recorded at the Union Workhouse, White Lane, Sturminster, Dorset.

Charles was recorded alone at Cab Lane (?), Caundle Stourton, Dorset (1901). Not sure what happened to Sarah or James as I couldn't find them anywhere.
