OPR: "Charles Thain in the parish of King Edward & Ann Fetch in this parish were contracted for the purpose of marriage and after public proclaimation in the parish church were married 2nd Dec. 1854 by Rev ? ?, Minister of Ord."

The family was living at Regown, Banff Landward, Banff. in the 1861 census. Also present was a visitor, James Thain, 1841, Bookseller, Kind Edward. He was possibly a Cousin.

In 1871 the family were recorded at Ellah, Banff. Banff., his father was also present & later at Hermit Lodge, Alvah, Banff. in 1881.

Charles & Ann were living at Berryhillock, Alvah, Banff. in 1891 with sons, Hugh & Duncan.

The 1901 census records Charles & Ann living at the same place with sons, Hugh & Duncan. Also present was dau., Elizabeth (Currie) recorded as a visitor.
