NOTE
John (b. 1820), a Cordwainer from St. Agnes. S. of William Tregea & Mary Tonkin. Liv. at Symons Row, St. Agnes (1881). William (1857-1930) was a Tin Miner & Postman who marr. Sarah Ann Harris; Richard was a Farm Labourer & Prudence (1864-1936) was a Dressmaker who marr. cousin William Henry Tregea.
"I understand she
(Prudence Ann) left Mount Hawke with all her belongings in a wicker basket and went to Torquay, probably as a teenager. She apprenticed herself to Rockhey's, the shop, and ended up as head of the dressmaking department, which was an important position. Again a lovely woman with perfectionist ideals. Shoes had to be polished underneath the heels as well as on top! When Great Aunt Annie died, after a few years she married her cousin William I whom I suspect she had long loved, and they went to live at Edge Hill, Banbury. I should think they both died in the 1930's. (Nora Nettle) Was living at 13 Wellington Rd, Babbacombe, Torquay at time of marriage to William Henry Tregea. Known as Auntie Pat. Will: left 4 parts to William T, Emily Bertha, Jessie Lloyd and Lydia Nettle. Staying with the Whittas in 1871."
