Emigrated to Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois in 1880. I can't find them in the 1880 census of United States. John (b. 1847/48-1892), of Pickering, Ontario. S. of Thomas Johnston (1801-1861), of N. Ireland & Elizabeth (widow of Mr. Gibson).

Ernest died aged 8 yrs.

After they married John Leaves for 2 mths duty with Fenian Raid Militia. Fred died aged 30 & Ernest died 8.
