NOTE
Mildred was born c 1896 at Rome, New York & died in 1983. The 1920 census recorded them at Lancaster, Worcester, Massachusetts, although no children were present. Looks like Erwin was a Labourer in a 'Greenhouse?'.
I've come across various passenger list records that record trips made by Erwin & his family including a trip made from London to New York in Apr 1930 on the ship 'American Trader'
here; Honolulu, Hawaii to Los Angeles, California in 1940
here; London to New York in Sept. 1948
here; Southampton to New York on the ship 'Queen Mary' in 1950
here; Shannon, Ireland to Idlewild Airport, Idlewild, New York in Jan. 1954
here; London to New York in Jan. 1954
here; Damascus, Syria to New York in May 1955
here & Orly Airport, Paris, France to New York in July 1956
here.
Another interesting
passenger list I came across is from Mar. 1930 which shows their three children taking a trip from Sydney to London.

Erwin E. Cossentine President, Southern California Junior College/La Sierra College 1930-42.
"Erwin Earl Cossentine is listed as college president, which he was of at least three, one of which was in Australia (all colleges of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church). He later went on to become Secretary of Education for the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, which has one of the largest parochial church school systems in the world, behind the Catholics. He traveled all around the world several times and was always bringing home unique items that he had collected on his journeys. My favorite was an elephants foot, and other ivory pieces (which of course now is illegal). He was also selected as one of the protestant ministers allowed with the US Army in Europe right after WW II and saw the many bodies from the holocaust in the POW camps. He was quite a man and I was somewhat close to him. I helped take care of him just before died. He never earned more than $100 a week working for the church, but was gifted at making money in the stock market. He could have easily been a millionaire many time over, but he devoted his life to working for the SDA church. He used to tell me he only wanted to make enough money to take care of his family, which he did amply – and then some." (Don Barton)
Erwin is the founder of the 'Cossentine Hall', at the campus of the
La Sierra University at Riverside, California. The hall now houses the collections of the 'World Museum of Natural History' as seen
here.
