NOTE

Jessie (1909-1931) died from T.B & William was a Farmer/Builder who married twice & emigrated to Canada.

The family was living at Auchinbadie Cottage, Alvah, Banff. in the 1891 census & later at Boghead Cottar House, Banff. Banff. in 1901.

Ref: 146/7 On 8 December 1888 at The Church, Parish Alvah, County Banff, after publication of Banns according to the Forms of the Established Church of Scotland, GEORGE DAVIDSON aged 21 years. Bachelor. Farm Servant residing at Briggs Hillock, Alvah. Son of George Davidson, Farmer and Jane Davidson m.s Duncan [married] MARY CHALMES THAIN aged 20 years. Spinster. Domestic Servant residing at Berryhillock, Alvah. Daughter of Charles Thain, Cooper (Master) and Ann Thain m.s Fitch Witnesses: John Davidson, John Laurence Minister: Hugh Fraser

Their son James is also listed on a war memorial gravestone at Alvah Kirkyard which reads: "1914-1919. To the glory of God. Erected by the people of Alvah to the honour and in sacred memory of the men connected with the Parish who fell in the Great War in defence of Freedom, Justice & Truth. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
