The pair of them are also recorded at the Port of Halifax, Nova Scotia on 28 Apr 1912 on the ship 'Canada'. See here.

"This is Henry John Cossentine, my grandfather, he left Cornwall in 1912 to end up in Penticton BC. The story of this picture as far as I know is that in the 1930s during the depression they would take wild elk from the Kooteneys and by train take the to Vancouver and Vancouver Island to butcher to feed the poor at the soup kitchens. On a hot day in the summer a train load of elk came through the Kettle Valley to Naramata where the train crew stopped for a beer, while stopped the elk kicked the sides out of the rail cars and escaped. Grandpa and his friends herded up what they could and ended up chasing the rest all over the Okanagan where the herds still flourish. Henry J Cossentine was an excellent horseman and proved on many occasions that he could ride almost anything." (Mark N. Cossentine + above picture)
