NOTE

Walter, a Carter, was born c 1839 at Portsoy, Banff. His parents were James Scott & Elspet Glashan. Margaret died in infancy.

The family was living at Seafield St., Portsoy, Fordyce, Banff. in the 1871 census. His mother was also present.

The 1881 census records Walter & children, Elsie, Walter & Isabella living in the same place. Also present was mother-in-law, Isabella Proctor & sister-in-law, Elizabeth Proctor.

Walter & family are living at the same place in 1891, although also recorded was a son, Alexander, 1865 ??? The 1901 census records Walter & children, Elsie & Walter living at the same place.
