NOTE

Helen was born c 1818 at Sutertown, Forgue, Aberdeen & died in 1862. Her parents were Alexander Adam & Jane Petrie.

His second wife, Margaret, a Farm Labourer, was born c 1831 at Cairnchina, Lonmay, Aberdeen & died in 1913. Her parents were Alexander Mundie & Margaret Brown.

John CHALMERS in Aberchirder had a son by his wife Jane Tocher, baptized and named james.Witnesses John tocher and Elizabeth Hay Marnoch OPR 161

A gravestone reads: In Loving Memory of JAMES CHALMERS Muir of Turtory Rothiemay, Died 11th. June 1902 aged 82 Also his wife Margaret Mundie aged 82 Their son Charles aged 22 Their daughter Margaret died in London aged 62 and their grandchild Margaret Dempster aged 15. Erected by Lizzie & Tina.

The family was living at Brownhill, Rothiemay, Banff. in the 1851 census & later at Hill Of Turtory, Rothiemay, Banff. in 1861. Alexr. & John wasn't present.

James, now re-married, is living at Muir Of Turtory, Rothiemay, Banff. in 1871 with his wife & children: Margt., Lizzie, Joseph & Charles. Also present was his son, James from his previous marriage.

The 1881 census records the family living at the same place. James & Margt. are living at the same place in 1891 with son Charles & dau., Christina.

James & Margt. are living at the same place in the 1901 census. Also present is a grand daughter, Christina Gatt, 1895, Rothiemay.
