Catherine was born c 1846 at London, Middlesex. Alice marr. Robert F. Allen & Catherine marr. David Norton.

Army Med Department Doctor Of Medicine Edinburgh Member College. Spent sometime in Bengal & Nainital, Uttranchal, India He is a recipiant of the Indian Mutiny Medal for the Indian Mutiny 1857-1859 for his duties as Assistant Surgeon for reg. 37th Foot (North Hampshire).

The family was living at 15 Prospect Row, Gillingham, Kent in the 1881 census then returned to Bengal, India before 1885. However, Edgar & Patrick both stayed in the UK.
