Elspet was born c 1800 at Marnoch, Banff. Her parents were William Morrison & Elizabeth Pirie.

The family were living at Corskie, Marnoch, Banff. in the 1841 census & later at Westside Corskie, Marnoch, Banff. in 1851. Also present was Elspet's sister, Christian Morison.

James & Elspet were living at the same place in 1861. Also present was sister-in-law, Jane Reidford & Grandsons, Francis & James Reidford.

James, now a widow, is living at the same place with 4 servants in 1871 & living alone in 81.
