Left Scotland in Mar. 1888 to join their son William in Oklahoma, USA. After his wife died James returned to Scotland & liv. at Rothiemay, Banff.

In 1851, Ann (Kinnaird) DUNCAN (aged 23) was at 44 Gellymill Street, Macduff, with James DUNCAN (aged 24) a dock labourer, and their children: William (aged 4), James (aged 2), Ann (aged 6mo.) and living next door, James's mother, Christina CHALMERS, unmarried (aged 63) a pauper from Alvah parish.

In 1861, Ann (Kinnaird) DUNCAN (aged 36) was at 102 Gellymill Street, Macduff, with James DUNCAN (aged 35) a day labourer, and their children: William (aged 14) a tailor, Ann (aged 10) a scholar, Heken (aged 8), John (aged 6), Christina (aged 4) and Alex (aged 1).

In 1871, Ann (Kinnaird) DUNCAN (aged 46) was at 1 George Street, Macduff, with James DUNCAN (aged 44) a forester and their children: Helen (aged 17), John (aged 15) a tailor, Alexander (aged 12) a scholar, Isabella (aged 9), Agnes (aged 7) and Barbara (aged 5). Also living with them were Mary ?LENTON (aged 14) niece and Ann PIRIE (aged lO mo) grand daughter.

In 1881, Ann (Kinnaird) DUNCAN (aged 56) was at 3 Commercial Street (nr. George St.), with James DUNCAN (aged 54) a general labourer, and daughter Barabara (aged 15) a servant. Also included was Ann PIRIE, grand daughter (aged 11).
