NOTE

Martha was born c 1814 at Sturminster Newton, Dorset & died sometime before 1840. May have been something to do with childbirth as their son, John died in infancy. Martha was the daughter of George Trowbridge & Mary Bigges. James's second wife, Phoebe a Grocer, was born c 1819 at Sturminster Newton & died in 1878. Her parents were James & Jane Goddard.

Henry died in infancy & George died aged 20.

The family was living at ..... Hill, Sturminster, Dorset (1851). Also present was Phoebe's father, James Goddard. The 1861 census records the family at Bagber, Sturminster, Dorset. Their daughter, Sarah was living next door.

James & Phoebe were living at the Rose & Crown, Bagber, Sturminster, Dorset in 1871 with their children, Phoebe & Tom. Interestingly, their son, James was living next door.
