Alexander, a Crofter, was born c 1843 at Gamrie, Banff. & died in 1925. After Jane's death he re-married, Ann Hood Davidson & had another son, George Duncan Dick.

The 1871 census records Alexr. & children living at Howmoss, Marnoch, Banff. with Jane's parents. Alexr. is living at the same place with wife, Ann & children, Robert & George in 1881.
