NOTE

Jane was born c 1796 at Commisty, Forgue, Aberdeen & died in 1872. Her parents were John Tocher & Isobel Elizabeth Hay. Joseph died aged 22 yrs.

Couldn't find anything concrete in the 1841 census, although there is a 'Jean' Chalmers living at Aberchirder North Street, Marnoch, Banff. with her 2 children, James, Jane, Joseph & Margaret. All the dates almost match & their children were born in Aberchirder? John wasn't present however. Jane is described as a 'Spinner Of Lime'. Also present was an Alexr. Chalmers, perhaps John's brother ?

Jane is recorded living with father at Back St., Aberchirder, Marnoch, Banff. in the 1851 census. Also present was her son, Joseph & dau., Jane with her son, Alexander Craig.

He was baptized Muiryhill, Alvah parish, Banffshire, Scotland, 2 April 1795. Religion: Church of Scotland.(130) Anno 1795 John L.S. of Alexander CHALMERS and Janet Barclay in Muiryhill was born 26th March and baptized 2nd April 1795. Witnesses: Alexander Jamieson and Walter CHALMERS both in Muiryhill.
