1851 census records John & Sarah living at Hartford, Cheshire (no exact address given). Also present was his sister Ruth. Later, in 1861 they are living at Barrocks, Hartford, Cheshire. Living next door was a Richard & Fanny Hilditch & a few doors away a James & Ann Hitditch.

The family were living at Chester Road, Hartford, Cheshire in 1871 & later at 128 Chester Road, Hartford, Cheshire in 1881. John & Sarah are living at No.140 Chester Road, Hartford, Cheshire in 1891. Their son & his family were living next door.
