Jean was born c 1824 at Banff. Banff. Jean also had two illigitimate sons after John's death. Henry Noble in 1856 & Franklin Sterling in 1859. What the church thought of these two indiscretions would be interesting! William probably died in infancy.

The family was living at Close High Street Chapel Close, Banff. Banff. in the 1851 census & later Jean is living at 4 Heads Of Yards Rd, Banff. Banff. in 1861 with children, Alexr., John, George & Duff. Also present are her two illigitimate sons, Henry Noble & Franklin Sterling.
