NOTE

John's background is unclear & looking through the census' there's only one in each that matches John's age, place of birth etc. In 1851 I believe John to be lodging with his father, John Cooke, 1795, Widr, Labourer, Cheshire (doesn't directly say 'father' however) at 17 Rice St., Liverpool, Lancashire. Thomas died in infancy & his bap. record can be seen here.

John (Snr) probably died between 1851 - 61 as there's no sign of him after the 51 census & John (Jr) may have been a Servant in a Pawn Broker's Shop on Howard St., Liverpool, Lancashire in 1861.

I couldn't find John in the 1871 census.

The family was living at Liv. at 135 Derby Road, Kirkdale, Lancashire in the 1881 & 91 census'. The former also recorded sister-in-law Frances Ann Dixon.

In 1901 the family are living at Bootle cum Linacre, Walton on the Hill St Mary, Lancashire. SEE here.
