NOTE

Public proclaimation of their marriage was read on 23rd Dec.1854. Birth also recorded as being 'Marnoch'. Jesse died aged 11 yrs & Elsie aged 15. Witnesses to John's Bap. John & George Watt Mile-hill Marnoch Parish.

The I.G.I. has come up with three possible dates for John and Margarets wedding: 15th December 1854 at Fordyce, 23rd December 1854 or 4th January 1855.

John at some point may have changed his name to Featch as his decendents last names are spent this way. A Source (Norma Dix) a direct decendent from John states that a family dispute was the result of this name change.

Death also recorded as 28.1.1880.

John is possibly recorded as a Servant at Cairns, Banff. Banff. in the 1851 census.

The family was living at 14 Chapel St., Portsoy, Fordyce, Banff. in the 1861 census & later at Lint Mill, Boyndie, Banff. in 1871, although Charles was recorded at Summertown, Fordyce, Isabella at Chalmers Hospital, Banff. Banff. as a patient & Margt. at Deskford.

Margaret, now a widow, was living at 4 Gallowhill St., Banff. Banff. in the 1881 census with children: Isabella, Sarah, Elizabeth & Elsie. The 1891 census records her & dau. Elsie living in the same street, although #6.

I couldn't find Margaret in 1901.
