NOTE

Martha was born c 1806 at Hastingleigh, Kent & died in 1877. She was the daughter of John Pilcher & Grace Hawkins. Richard died aged 5; John aged 3 & Ann aged 1.

The family was living at Minnis, Stelling, Kent (1851) & later at Butte Cottage (?), Stelling, Kent (1861).

In 1871, John & Martha was living at Minnis, Stelling, Kent with son, James. Strangley, Butte Cottage was right next to Minnis. A few doors away was working a James Hopkins, 15, Farm Serv, Elham, although I'm not sure who he was, or if he was related.
