John was living alone at Caundle Stourton, Dorset (1851). No street address was recorded. Later he's recorded with his second wife Charlotte, who was born c 1798 at Stalbridge Weston, Dorset, at Caundle St., Caundle Stourton, Dorset (1861).

The 1871 census records John & Charlotte at Street, Caundle Stourton, Dorset. Interestingly, they lived a few doors away from a distant Cousin, William Jeans.
