Mum was a clothes designer and tailoress. She designed and made clothes for all ages of people and worked until about 75 years. She was tiredless in the home and dedicated her life to her family. She loved singing and in the last few weeks of her life she sang many old songs that the family have never heard of previously. Dad was baptized Upperthird, Auchterless parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, 30 November 1892. Religion: Church of Scotland.(198) He was inducted into the military at Aberdeen, Old Machar, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, 9 December 1905. He was baptized Aldershot, England, 28 March 1908. He resided 31 Sheares St Cork, St Peter and Paul parish, Cork county, Ireland 22 June 1925.(200) Joseph Chalmers and his wife Catherine Mullaney, sometimes spelt Mullanny motorcycled to Scotland in 1950. He met many of his relatives after many years out of Scotland. He brought back many photographs of his cousins. Soon after discharge from the army in 1920, he joined the Ford motor company in Cork until he retired.
