NOTE
Thank you to Susana Taifane for your help with this line. There may have been another son called To' i & Faaaliga & Semisi may not have existed at all.
I am a descedent of Mata'u (female). Mata'u married Faalogo Taua (that's my great-grandpa's taule'ale'a name). They had 3 kids: Jane (female), Muka (male), and Manesa (male). I have no idea who is older/younger.
Muka married (?) and lived in Leone. They had one daughter and he named her Muka, after himself. Muka (the daughter) married a gentleman whose lastname was Godinet and that's where the Godinets of that area descend from. I remember my dad stopping by a little store in Leone for ice cream and to see this little old lady name Nia-Marie (I think) for family stuff. He said we were closely related but his explanation didn't really click in my brain til years later. She is a descedent of Muka, I believe. I wonder if she's still with us today??
Jane, whose name is spelled several different ways because our ancestors were so used to the memorization of oral not written history, married Uaine Tuitele of Leone. Le sepelaga fa'asamoa a le igoa o Jane: Sieni, Saini, Saine, or any combined version--that's our Jane. I understand they had many children.
I am a descedent of Manesa. He married twice. Lived in Amanave, the village of his father, Faalogo. He had several children, biological and adopted: Fu'ameleke, Rosa, Tusalava, Potoa'e, Tai'u, Faaaliga, Niualama, Safune, and Semisi.
In Amanave the High Chief title Mata'ituliseali'i and the High Talking Chief title Tauaosafune is still handed down from generation to generation to those in our family. My father, Safune Taua, also held the title of Mata'ituliseali'i until his death on March 7th this year like his father and grandfathers before him.
