NOTE

Samuel, a Mason, was born c 1824 at Mevagissey, Cornwall & died in 1913. His parents were Samuel & Mary Over. Mary Jane died in infancy.

The family were living at Cliff St., Mevagissey, Cornwall in the 1851 & 61 census'. Also present (in the former) is lodger, Nancy Over, unmarried, 73 yrs. Mary & Samuel are living in the same place in 1871 with children, Laura, Thomas & Mary.

The 1881 census records Mary & Samuel living at the same place with children, Matilda & Thomas & again in 1891 with dau. Matilda. Samuel, now a widow, is living in the same area with his dau., Matilda (Over) & her family in 1901.

Mary Olver, who married William Hunkin, is the great-great-aunt of Samuel Over (1824). Apparently, unique to Mevagissey in Cornwall, the names Over and Olver are pronounced the same. (Nigel Over)
