NOTE

Janet was born c 1805 at Knockando, Moray & died in 1843. Her parents were William Black & Helen Achnach.

The family was living at Burn Side, Rothes, Moray in the 1841 census & later at Woodside, Rothes, Moray in 1851. None of his children from his previous marriage were present & were all recorded in different places.

The 1861 census records the family living at Woodside Dardaleith, Rothes, Moray. Also present was his dau., Jessie. The family was living at the same place in 1871.

Jane, a Lodging House Keeper, was born c 1823 at Rothes, Moray & died in 1887. She is recorded at New St., Rothes, Moray in the 1881 census with son, Joseph & dau., Elizabeth. Also present was Grandson, Charles Dunstan, 1874, Rothes.

A gravestone reads: "Peter Dustan farm overseer Dandaleith 4.12.1872 66, 1 w Jessie Black 4.1843 38, da Hellen inf, s Alex d Elgin 28.6.1885 45, 2 w Jane Stewart d Rothes 15.8.1887 64."
