"Pu'a married Afeleti (Alfred) Ohuliu. She however kept her maiden (sur)name for all her children for what now appears to be some good historical reasons particlarly with Samoa under colonial rule first by Germany then secondly by New Zealand. Our branch has seen no reason to change our (sur)name as 3 generations, and now 4 have grown up with it & will continue with it. Incidentally, many other Samoan familes of part - European ancestry of similar background to ours (mothers' connection carrying on European names) continued with their European name / connections."
