NOTE

Worked as a lime-worker in Drummuir with Isabel's father William during the late 1950's. Suffered a heart attack in Oct. 1970 and recovered but would later suffer another in 1985 which would take his life. Richard or Dick to his friends was well liked and very respected in the Rothes community.

"Richard Ford or as he was known to all of us who worked with him as 'Dick'. I was his Manager for approximately 3 years at Glenspey Distillery, what I can remember was, he was a very quite individual, but once you got to know him he was great company to be around. I also recall the unfortunate day he died. It was about 8:00 am when I and a college received an urgent call that Dick had taken a turn in bed, we ran down to the house (55 High St., Rothes) which was part of the distillery and tried to resuscitate him with no joy. The doctor arrived and pronounced that he had died." (by Peter J. Warren, Cardhu House, Knockando)

I never really knew my Granda that well & only remember that he was very quiet & loved to read.
