The
Last Will and Testament
of
Robert Varcoe
of
Edgcumbe House, Parkwoon, Roche
In the
County of Cornwall
18th. Day of August 1906
(and Codicil 18th. Day of February 1910)
I Robert Varcoe of Edgcumbe House, Parkwoon, In the Parish of Roche in the County of Cornwall Retired Auctioneer hereby revoke all former Wills and testamentary dispositions by me made and declared this to be my last Will and Testament.
I direct that my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses shall be paid as soon as may be after my decease.
I give to my dear wife Susan Jane Varcoe All my Leasehold Dwelling-house two Shops Garden and premises known as Edgcumbe House in Roche aforesaid together with the Household furniture and effects therein.
I also give to my said Wife all my Leasehold House and Lands situate at Hendra in the Parish of Roche aforesaid.
I also give to my wife ten shares in the Capital & Counties Bank, ‘Ltd All the before mentioned bequests I give to my said wife for her sole use and benifit absolutely.
I give to my daughter Helena Augusta Mary Roberts my Leasehold land situate at Victoria Road part of Churchtown Common in the said Parish of Roche containing about six Acres and subject thereto I charge the said Leasehold tenement with the payment of the sum of Two Pounds per annum to my daughter Edith Cornelia Curtis for her life if my Interest therein shall so long continue.
I give to my daughter Milicent Elizabeth Richards Jane the sum of Fifty pounds.
I give to my daughter Clarissa Eliza Spinks One Share in the Capital and Counties Bank Limited and also the sum of Forty pounds. I give to my daughter Edith Cornelia CurtiS one share in the Capital and Counties Bank limited and also the sum of Fifty pounds. I give to my daughter Lucie Annie Waters the sun of Eighty pounds.. I give to my daughter Julia Alberta Emily Varcoe Five shares In the Capital and Counties Bank Limited and also the sum of Fifty pounds. I give to my son William Richards Varcoe the sum of Fifty pounds. I give to my son Arthur Albert George Varcoe three shares In the Goonvean China Clay and Stone Company and also the sum of Ten pounds,
I give to my son Guy Robert Edward Varcoe Four Shares in the Goonvean China Clay and Stone Company the sum of ten pounds.
1.
I give to my son Arnold Egbert Thomas Hicks Varcoe the sum of ten Fifty pounds7
I give to William Hicks Stephens my Wife’s son the sum of ten pounds. I direct that all the above mentioned Legacies and Shares shall be paid or transferred to the before mentioned Legatees within six calendar Months from the date of my decease.
I give to my Grandson Robert Varcoe Son of my said Arthur Albert George Varcoe the sum of Twenty pounds to be paid to him on his attaining the age of twenty one years.
All the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects of whatever description whether real or personal which I may die possessed of I give to my wife absolutely.
Lastly I appoint my said wife SuSan Jane Varcoe and my friend George Burrow of St.Columb Bank Manager Trustees and executors of this my will.

I Robert Varcoe of Edgcumbe House Parkwoon in the parish of Roche in the County of Cornwall retired Auctioneer do declare this to be a Codicil to my Will which Is dated the Eighteenth day of August One thousand nine hundred and six and which I make this eighteenth day of February One thousand nine hundred and ten.
In addition to the sum of Fifty pounds which I have given to my Son Arnold Egbert Thomas Hicks Varcoe by my said Will I give to my said Son Arnold Egbert Thomas Hicks Varcoe Five Shares In the Goonvena China Stone & Clay Company for his own use and benifit absolutely
And In all other respects I confirm my said will.
