NOTE

Mary was born c 1821 at St. Tudy, Cornwall & died in 1863. Her parents were Josiah & Mary Stephens.

William's bap. record is having taken place on the 7th Feb. but his gravestone (below) records a birthdate of the 20th May?

A Gravestone Reads: "In loving memory of William Cossentine of Manelly born February 20th 1820 died May 17th 1902 and of Mary his wife born June 24th 1821 died April 18th 1863" (Inscription is with great thanks to Mary Williams)

The family were living at Great Manelly Farm, St. Veep, Cornwall in the 1851 census & later at 2 Manelly, St. Veep, Cornwall in 1861. His parents were living next door in both census'.

William, now a widow, is living at the same place with children, Mary, Ellen, Emily, William & Joey in 1871. Not idea what happened to Charles but Eliza was recorded as a boarder in Teignmouth, Devon.

The 1881 census records William at the same place with son, William Henry & dau., Emily. William is living at the same place in 1891 & 1901 with various servants.
