NOTE

Jane was born c 1829 at Rothes, Moray & died in 1862. Her parents were William McConnachie & Janet Leddingham. She died whilst giving birth to her unnamed dau. who died at childbirth. Elspet died aged 10 yrs.

William was living at Green St., Rothes, Moray in the 1841 census. Also present was a Jane Simpson. Later, the family were living at Old St., Rothes, Moray in 1851.

The 1861 census records the family as 'Jackson' & living at Raily C Pater Lodge, Rothes, Moray, although Alexr. wasn't present.

Before William re-married he had an illigitimate dau., named Isobel in 1863 with Isabella Burgess.

Keith Kirk Session Minutes, 7 Sep 1863 "Compeared Isabella Burgess residing at Cottertown, Broadfield confessed herself pregnant in fornication and giving her partner in her guilt and the father of her pregnancy William Inkson, Shoemaker, Orton, Rothes, who being present admitted the truth of the accusation, when the case was deferred for a month and the man directed to get a cert. from his parish."

8 Oct. 1863 "Compeared Isabella Burgess and William Inkson adhering and he having produced a cert. that he has hitherto maintained a fair model character (but at the same time professed he was a dissenter) after a serious admonition by the moderator (and this her first lapse) she was dismissed from the scandal and restored to church privileges."

Mary Gordon was born c 1846 at Rothes, Moray & died in 1897.

The 1871 census records the family living at Raily Crossing Lodge On Highland Line Garbity, Rothes, Moray. Also present was son, William from his previous marriage.

The family were living at Garbity, Rothes, Moray in the 1881 census. Mary, now re-married to Robert Mustard, was living at 238 High St., Elgin, Moray in 1891. Also present was her children. Records her b'place as 'Marnoch'.
